Time is a consistent pace, it doesn’t waiver, it doesn’t speed up and it doesn’t slow down.
There is a moment in life that seems to defy this knowledge. That is the moment that you are diagnosed with cancer or someone you know is diagnosed with cancer. For a brief moment in time, while your mind begins to process the information it has been given, it feels like time slows to a glacial pace (thank you Miranda Priestly and Meryl Streep for this description). Unless you have experienced this phenomenon it is almost indescribable. In a solitary moment, you begin to think about the what if’s, the how’s, the what’s next, who do I need to tell, how are we going to get through this? It is as if time just stops for a brief moment and everything is a haze. This moment is significant and helps to shape how the next moments proceed.
The key to this moment is to find HOPE.
I know that it sounds elementary and so basic but a diagnosis of cancer is a struggle for everyone that is involved and they need hope. Fear can easily creep in and tell you that your time is short, you should be more scared, you won’t be able to pay for this, how will we survive? Those fears helped to form and shape Go Be A Hero. We want to help give that hope to people when they are in their desperate time of need by donating to medical foundations that help these individuals. Go Be A Hero was also created to serve as a reminder to those who have been diagnosed to keep fighting like a Hero does with our products.
Heroes don’t quit, they do not give up, they simply keep fighting until they can no longer. If you know someone with a bad medical diagnosis please take a moment today and call that person or those people up and give them a message of hope. Tell them to keep fighting. Let them know that they are your hero and give them a U R MY HERO item to let them know what you mean to them.
